Hannah + Geoff | Mexico Destination Wedding

With Spring finally in the air and the promise of warmer weather approaching, I couldn’t think of a better time to share Hannah and Geoff's tropical destination wedding that Kathleen Fisher Photography and I were incredibly excited to capture in Mexico late last year. A wedding can be a challenging event to plan at the best of times, let alone when a bride and groom come from two different countries! However these two have such a wonderful, fun-loving group of family and friends from all over the world (Australia and Canada specifically), who were more than happy to make the trip to Tulum, Mexico to help them celebrate their love.

As wedding vendors, this is a very strange and uncertain time for us and others in our industry…not to mention all our beautiful couples who had their weddings planned for 2020. I hope this film brings you some hope and comfort, in knowing that one day we will all be sharing in these happy and joyous celebrations again, hopefully in the not-so-distant future.

choose hope story Film COLLAB

I am so proud to share this incredible story about the COVID-19 pandemic, which we had the honour of collaborating on with Muse Storytelling and over 250 filmmakers from around the world over the past 10 days. This project has reminded me, of how much stronger we can be when we all work together.

It is my hope that this film will inspire others to share their own experiences and stories of compassion amidst this pandemic, and that by watching it you will also feel some comfort, in knowing you are not alone. #choosehopestory

EMPOWERHER FORUM KAMLOOPS

We were so excited to be involved in capturing the inspiring, all-female EmpowerHER Forum in Kamloops earlier this year.

This event provides a safe and supportive space for girls to connect with activities of interest - some they may never have had the chance to try before! Thank you to Kamloops School District 73, for allowing us to document this powerful female initiative. #girlpower

BC WEDDING AWARDS 2020 | VIDEOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR

We are so unbelievably honoured to have been named 2020 Videographer of The Year at The British Columbia Wedding Awards.

Thank you so much to Kathleen Fisher Photography for your constant support over the past few years and to the gorgeous Laine Dagneau Hairstylist & Makeup Artist for always making us look and feel absolutely fabulous.

Huge congratulations also to fellow boss babes, friends and incredibly talented Kamloops wedding vendors Rozalind Photography and Raine Artistry Co. for winning their categories!

We feel so grateful to be able to do what we love year after year, and it would not be possible without all of the love and support we receive from our couples and the Kamloops community. We are very lucky to work alongside some of the most talented vendors in the industry right here in BC. Our films would not be what they are without each and every one of these amazing vendors, constantly putting so much effort and passion into what they do.

TRU Foundation Gala Film

We are so very proud to have worked on this film for the TRU Foundation Gala recently, helping to raise $130,000 towards purchasing a high-fidelity mannequin for the University's Nursing Students.

A huge thank you to the heart and soul of this video, Lauren Martin and her daughter Harper for sharing a small piece of their incredible story, detailing Harper's journey battling Cystic Fibrosis.

CIVIC OPERATIONS IN ACTION | CITY OF KAMLOOPS

We are so excited to share this Civic Operations ‘day in the life’ video we worked on recently with the City of Kamloops.  Many of us aren’t aware of half the work that goes on behind the scenes to run this great city we live in, but let me tell you it’s absolutely fascinating!  This project gave me the opportunity to both capture and learn all about the incredible work these men and women do on a daily basis.  I really hope you’ll enjoy watching this as much as I did creating it.

Laura + Miles | Kalamalka Lake Wedding

On this cold Winter day, here’s little dose of romance to warm your heart 💕

We had the best time capturing these two beautiful souls...in fact it felt like we were just casually hanging out with old friends while walking through gorgeous Kalamalka Lake Park with our cameras!

Laura and Miles, even after spending only a portion of a day with you two it’s easy to see that you’re absolutely made for each other. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of this unforgettable milestone in your lives.

RENÉE + ADAM | A LOVE STORY FILM

For me personally, making wedding films has never just been about capturing and recapping one single day of celebration. What I love most about weddings, is the opportunity they present for me to tell a raw, genuine story of the love that can exist between two people. I want viewers to experience more than just pretty imagery...I want to make them feel something. I want them to shed a tear for two people they’ve never even met, because the love they share is just that beautiful, that awe inspiring and that transcendent. Love is the most powerful emotion in the world, and I want you to feel it emanating from the screen every time you watch an Aspect Film Works wedding film.

With that in mind, it is my pleasure to share Renée and Adam’s wedding film, which I feel embodies everything I strive for as a wedding filmmaker. These two share such a deep love and connection with one another, which is so evident when you spend time with them. Renée and Adam, thank you so much for trusting me and allowing me the honour of telling your story.

Kamloops Wine Trail Open House

Who's heading to the Kamloops Wine Trail Open House this year?

This fantastic event combines several of my all-time favourite things…wine, market treats and Christmas! So you can probably imagine how thrilled we were to be involved in capturing all the festivities for Tourism Kamloops 🍷🎄

Jess + Jonny | Romantic Bohemian Wedding

“You stole my heart the first time we met. You kept it close to yours, and when you gave it back I truly understood what love meant."

So much love for these gorgeous newlyweds, who were married at beautiful Rustic Wedding this past Summer. The love you two have for one another is truly extraordinary, and I am so incredibly honoured you chose Kathleen Fisher Photography and I to tell your story.

Ellie + Behn Vow Renewal

Ellie and her husband Behn celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary recently, and decided it would also be a great opportunity to renew their vows. They approached us to create a film that would tell their story and convey the deep and ever strengthening love they have for one another. Their ceremony took place at a beautiful viewpoint overlooking Kamloops Lake, and we were excited to work alongside the talented Christine Nicole Photography on this occasion.

Ellie had one more request, asking if I would be able to incorporate some of her original wedding video into the final film. I must admit, I wasn’t sure how this might work at first, but if you watch the film you’ll find out how we managed to bring her request to life.

Thank you Ellie and Behn, for allowing us to capture and tell the story of your wedding vow renewal. It was a pleasure working with you both, and witnessing the great big love you are so lucky to share with one another.

Trevor's Story

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, and in light of this we thought it would be appropriate to share a film we worked on earlier this year with the Housing Industry Association Charitable Foundation in Australia. A huge thank you to Trevor Renison for sharing his very personal experience and story with us.

In Australia, construction workers are twice as likely to commit suicide than people in other industries, and industry apprentices are two and a half times more likely to commit suicide than other young people their age. These alarming statistics are one of the reasons the HIACF reached out to us, in the hope of creating a film with a story and a message loud enough that it would be heard by the people who are most at risk.

The film was screened at both the National Apprenticeship Awards and also the National Housing Awards, and is now shown to every single Australian apprentice during their training. It is my hope that this film will shed some light on the topic of suicide, and the signs to not only look out for but act on, if you happen to recognize them in friends, family or colleagues who may be suffering in silence.

Carissa + Drew | Rustic Wedding

"When we love, we see things other people do not see. To be loved, is to be seen and known, as we are known to no other."

Biggest love and congratulations Carissa & Drew. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to capture and tell the story of your beautiful wedding day.

SD73 ASSAI PROGRAMS

As someone who regularly participated in after school activities as a child, working on this project with SD73 was really special for me. We got to meet some amazing kids, and the incredible instructors who are not only teaching them skills in sports and the arts, but life skills that will carry through with them forever. Thank you to Alex Inglis, for allowing us the opportunity to work on this video with the school district. We hope this video will inspire the inner child in everyone!

RIH Foundation Gala Video

I am so honoured to share this incredible story, which we had the pleasure of working on with the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation

Mike and his family are truly beautiful people, and we are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to get to know them and to tell their inspiring story.

Kamloops Pride | TOURISM KAMLOOPS

Pride is something very near and dear to us, so when Tourism Kamloops asked us to work on this project with them, we obviously jumped at the chance!

Huge thanks to Kamloops Pride for all that you do for our LGBTQ community here in Kamloops.  It was such an honour to capture the Pride Parade alongside you last year, and we look forward to joining you again for this year’s event in August.

TREE ERA PROMOTIONAL VIDEO

Happy Earth Day 🌎

In honour and support of our incredible planet, here’s a video we created with Tree Era to aid them in reaching their goal of planting one billion trees. They’ve made it easier than ever for people and businesses to get involved and help the environment.

I feel so lucky that my “job” and passions have allowed me so many opportunities to explore Canada.  It’s also made me realize why it’s so important to preserve this amazing environment we are so lucky to have right at our fingertips 🌲

Aussie Beach Wedding

It’s not often I get the opportunity to film weddings in my home country, let alone my home state these days.

Thank you Alice & Cameron Clark, for allowing me the honour of capturing your special day at stunning Waverley Estate in Port Elliott.  You are such a beautiful, fun-loving couple and you both made me tear up behind the lens multiple times with those incredible vows of yours!

Wishing you huge amounts of love, happiness and adventure…always & forever.

Mission Flats Housing Project VIDEO

Although the topic of homelessness can sometimes be controversial, as a filmmaker I feel very humbled and honoured that I get to tell stories like Rob's. This is a project we created for The City of Kamloops in partnership with BC Housing, Ask Wellness and Horizon North. The story highlights local Kamloops resident Robert Sedore, portraying his battle with homelessness, addiction, and his journey towards recovery and stabilization through a new housing initiative.
